The forgiveness and accuracy of wide sole irons are not in dispute, and the XDS Cabriolet certainly offer that, but that is not all: It takes the same concept of a modern hybrid and incorporates it in an iron. Most hybrids have a hollowed out body, and the reason for this is to get as much weight as possible from the face.

This results in forgiveness on off center hits and a higher launch. The Acer XDS Cabriolet uses the same concept: starting out with the body of a hybrid, but removing the crown, and relocating the weight to the extra wide sole.
