I played my new "Dot Com This" driver, at 14 degrees of loft, this weekend. I wanted the most loft available to make up for my slow swing speed. As you know I'm 60 years old and just started playing golf. My swing speed is around 88 MPH. You recommended the "Accuflex icon V3 in regular flex. We decided that 44" was going to be the best length for me. It took only 6 days from order to arrival.
My regular playing partner and I hooked up with two young guys to make up a foursome at a course that we haven't played before. We knew we were in for a long day when they tee'd up at the blue markers. My partner and I agreed to play from there also, we usually play from the senior tees. They were using three woods, and after watching them hit I knew why, they were long hitters and wanted to lay up before the water. Once we got to the longer fairways they broke out the driver, yes one driver, one of the guys left his Ping at home. He said that they both hit the same club so they were going to share. After everyone hit I asked the one that forgot his club to hit my new driver. He agreed and you should have seen the look on his face when the BANG went off. He said, "that ball was hot off the face". I used my Sky Caddy to mark where we hit from and went to look for the balls. His ball was at the end of the flat fairway. My drivers ball was up hill 30 yards beyond his Ping. It did not roll at all due to the up slope. It went 311 yards! He hit my driver two more times and said he was going to get one.
As to my drives, they were all longer than they have ever been before. I couldn't have been happier.
