Apollo Phantom Steel Iron Shafts are nice stepless profile ultra-lite iron shafts that offer incredible feel. Such lightweight shafts in a stepless design are rare, and Apollo has a real winner here. These can help a golfer generate more club speed and get more distance, and not lose the consistency of steel shafts.

The Phantom’s tip section is firmer than shafts of comparable weight and they can provide added control while producing a nice mid launch angle. The lower balance point shifts more weight toward the head adding more head feel without having to increase the overall weight of the club.

Customer Questions
If I am suppose to be 1/2 shorter than standard for length, and I am using a regular flex, should I cut off a 1/2 inch more than what is listed here. Example, it says to cut one inch off for a four iron, I am a 1/2 inch shorter, so should I cut off an inch and half?
No, you don't want to trim more off the tip. That will stiffen the shaft more than you want. Trim the tip of the shaft the amount the chart indicates and then shorten your playing length by the butt cutting.
do the reqire tip trim only? or both butt and tip? thanks
You would tip trim according to the trim chart and then after installation in the head butt trim to the playing length you prefer.
Is the trim listed from the tip or the butt?
Trimming on a trim chart is always meant for the tip end.
Greetings. I'm interested in buying this golf shaft. It has an option to have a spine alignment. I had thought that was done when it's attached to the head and not done prior to this. Can you give me some information on this? Thank you.
Check our FAQs.  A line is put on the shaft to designate what we feel is the best orientation when affixing to the head. If a shaft has graphics, these may not be in the best location aesthetically, so you should consider this too.
Do the tip trimming instructions apply to hybrids the same as irons?
Generally, yes, if the weight of the hybrid head is in the range of the iron head that it replaces. If the weight of the hybrid head is different from the iron it is supposed to replace, tip trim according to the weight of the head it's closest to instead...
Maybe a dumb question but, which end do you trim?
The trim chart is the amount you trim off the tip end before installing in the head. Then after installing in the head, you trim the butt end to your preferred playing length.
