Pinhawk SL Single Length Iron Heads
- Product Review (submitted on May 3, 2017):
I tiptoed into this by purchasing the 4, 6 and 9 irons. Once built, I tried them out and was pleased to find that they were not "strange" to hit. Built to standard 7-iron length, they were easy to set up with and I found them easy to hit. I ordered the remainder of the set.
As you would expect, the short irons (8, 9, PW) fly very, very high and the long irons (5 and 4) fly a good bit lower than regular clubs.
The thing that stands out for it is that these clubs hit very straight (accurate) shots time after time. Distances are similar to normal irons. Maybe a tad longer.
The clubs seem to be a bit softer than most cast stainless steel clubs. The seem to pick up small scratches on the face fairly easily. Again, since they are bendable, a softer metal was not a surprise.
I'm still working on a really solid 7-iron swing, but can see a lot of progress.
I was playing Mizuno JPX irons prior to these and I think these will improve my game.
