The standard golf grip is the grip against which all other sizes--Undersize, Midsize, and Oversize--are measured. Standard size grips are the most popular size among golfers, being appropriate for the majority of players, regardless of skill level. But these statements beg the question: does grip size even matter?

The answer is a resounding YES! Using the wrong grip size on your clubs can cost you up to four strokes every round. Additionally, your shots are less likely to be on the line. You’ll find the ball unintentionally sailing toward the left or the right of your target with greater frequency, and who wants that?

So how can you determine whether or not you might want to use a standard size grip? One way is to measure your hand from the tip of your middle finger to the bend in your wrist. A distance of 7 to 8 ¾ inches between those two points indicates that a standard size grip could be what’s best for you.

Here at ValueGolf.com, we’ve got a wide selection of standard size grips from brands such as Lamkin, PURE, Golf Pride, WInn, and Star. They also come in an array of different colors and textures.
