The XV Thriver Mini is a whole new classification of head. Not exactly a driver head and not exactly a 3 wood, but can be used to replace either!
This is a special shallow-face control club to hit off of a shorter tee, or a great club to use in the fairway when you need the maximum distance possible. Compare it to the TaylorMade SLDR S Mini Driver head. The head has a very large footprint that makes it much more forgiving than a typical 3 wood. It's an all-titanium head, and the lighter weight of titanium allows Acer to distribute the weight in the ultimate locations to help you get the ball airborn quicker. It will give you a higher trajectory than the 13 degree loft would indicate.
Even more importantly, the thinner, hotter, "high C.O.R." titanium face will help give you more distance. This head offers some of the features of the XV driver, such as the "Power Chamber" (speed pocket) sole which enhances energy transfer to the ball creating higher ball speeds even when the player doesn't hit the "sweet spot" in exactly the right place.
