Armlock putting is here to stay. Why? Because not only is it USGA and R&A legal, it flat-out works!

Whether you are beating your weekend buddies or winning major championships, armlock putting gives you a more consistent stroke and allows you to make more putts. But there has always been one knock on this putting method, and that is that, for many players at least, it’s just too uncomfortable. If you are a right handed player, locking the putter to your left, “non-dominant” arm can feel awkward and lead to inconsistent putting strokes. Pinhawk Golf has a perfect solution for that: R.A.T. Technology!

The Pinhawk Deadbolt uses Reverse Armlock Technology that is designed so the shaft of the putter is anchored to your dominant, more comfortable right arm. This gives you more control and consistency and does not feel awkward, so you will stick with it and make a smooth repeatable stroke every time. In fact it becomes comfortable and natural. In order to accomplish this, the Deadbolt is zero degrees of loft, which produces the perfect roll for the shaft lean that lead-arm anchoring produces.

Matt Kuchar has used this method for the exact reasons described above, but Bettinardi (the putter company Matt plays) does not make their zero degree reverse armlock putter for the masses. Check out this great article on Golf.com for more on that.

At Pinhawk Golf, they designed a prototype that worked so well that they decided to bring it to the public. The Deadbolt is 400 grams (the perfect weight for an armlock length putter), zero degrees of loft (to optimize launch and spin for a smooth and predictable roll) and a beautiful, CNC milled, double-wide anser style head that has a great feel and look.

What length should you choose? The easiest way to find your armlock length would be to take your traditional putter, assume your comfortable, regular putting position, turn the butt end of the putter against your wrist area, and measure from the butt end of your traditional putter to approximately 2 inches below the crease of your elbow. Add this measurement to the length of your current putter. For example, if your traditional putter is 34” long, and you measure from the butt end of that putter to 2 inches below your elbow crease, and this measurement is 6”, your armlock putter length should be 40”. When you receive the putter, if the butt end of your armlock putter is anywhere from 1” to 3” below your elbow crease in your normal putting position, you are good to go.

There is nothing like the Pinhawk Deadbolt on the market, and we feel it’s a game changer! Sharp, high quality, magnetic Pinhawk Deadbolt headcover included.

NOTE: This is the way we install your armlock grip unless you request otherwise: If you choose the Pinhawk grip, we install it with the flat side up (Matt Kuchar style). If you choose the JumboFlat grip (which has a wider flat area), we install it with the flat side of the grip to lay against your arm (Bryson DeChambeau style).
