Details

The Pinhawk Fairway Woods (Pinhawk SLF) were designed especially for single length players to complement the Pinhawk Irons and/or Pinhawk Hybrids. All three fairway woods are to be played at the same length (41 1/2 inches is standard - but you can build to other lengths).

As is true with the Pinhawk irons and hybrids, consistency is what will improve in your game. We believe you will find these woods to be truly point-and-shoot! You'll find the low center of gravity gets the ball up quickly and easily with a perfect trajectory.

Testing has proven the loft gapping on these to be a perfect 4 degrees between clubs. Anything under that would simply not be enough, it compresses your distances, and just doesn't make design sense. These are tooled SPECIFICALLY for single length. Other companies may jump on this bandwagon and try to slap a badge on a foundry model that is the typical 3 degrees separation between clubs (regular fairways basically) - don't fall for it. Again, these are designed and tooled the right way!

Fine-tuned perimeter weighting also gives these woods maximum forgiveness. Your ball position stays the same, your stance stays the same, and your spine angle stays the same. Same proven single-length technology, with the same swing on the same plane, with the same feel for each fairway wood. Now you can have not only more consistency in your iron play, but also more consistency in your fairway wood play.

The bottom line result for golfers of all skill levels will be an increase in consistent ball striking and accuracy. This is a common sense approach to play your best golf. And to put your mind at ease if it's important to you, the USGA has ruled that the Pinhawk SLF Fairway Woods conform to the rules of golf, and you can see that here

Holy Cow!!!
I have been building clubs for going on 30 years. For the last fifteen or more I have not been able to hit a 5 or 3 fairway wood at all (built, bought or otherwise). I built the full set of single length irons and absolutely love them (if only I can get a reliable 7-iron swing...)! I liked the look of the fairway woods so thought I'd give them a shot. Paired them with a basic Apollo steel shaft and Dri-tec mid-sized grips at 41 1/2 inches. Holy Cow! I am able to hit the 7 ~ 175 yards, the 5 ~ 195 and RELIABLY hit the 3 215 on the nose! What a great feeling knowing I can attempt to hit par 5s in two and a safe 3-wood off of the tee! Only drawback is the cost per head, but I can swallow it with the reliable performance.

Super Solid Head
I have been clubmaking for many years and have tried most component heads. A few have stuck out being super solid. This head goes in that group. I built the 3 with a Fubuki 65 AX fairway shaft and trimmed it 42". It very solid and easy to hit off of tight lies. I will probably add the other two heads to the bag as well.

Who are these clubs for?

These clubs are great for both beginners and experienced golfers since the underlying idea behind single length clubs is to reduce the complexity of the game which makes golf more fun for everyone — even your friends and that group behind yours that appreciates not having to wait for you to find your ball every other hole.

Look & Feel

These fairway woods have the classic teardrop shape with a glossy black finish on top. The bottom of the clubs are silver-metallic and feature the loft and racing stripes in black.

The feel when hitting the ball is rock-solid, with a flush hit registering zero jarring. This buttery feel could be partially due to my somewhat unorthodox choice of shafts — I went with the True Temper Dynamic Gold Parallel Woods Steel S300 127g stiff shafts.

The choice of a steel shaft was the result of my typical miss with my Callaway XR 3 Wood (graphite shaft), which was 2-3 degrees open to path, resulting in a moderate slice on a mishit. With the steel stiff shaft on the Pinhawk SLF woods, my typical miss was only 1 degree open to path, resulting in a slight cut, but still in the fairway — I expect that this will enable me to hit more fairways!
