The Pinhawk LF-3 Fairway Wood Head was designed by Pinhawk Golf in keeping with their philosophy of making the game of golf easier and more fun to play. Designed to be built as a longer-than-usual fairway wood, this one is all about maximum distance.Great for those times when the golfer didn’t get the distance off the tee he was hoping for, for those long par 5’s to give the player that chance at an eagle, and the perfect club for a scramble. (demoralize the other team!)

This clubhead was designed with the correct head weight and lie angle to be built a full inch longer than a modern 3 wood and can be made as long as 45 ½”, the length of a modern driver! Because as you may know, the length of the club is what equals distance, it's just simple physics. Many shy away from longer clubs because they fear a loss of control, and that is a legitimate concern if you don't have a consistent swing. BUT, there are plenty of players out there where distance is the only concern, period, and this club is for them.

The design shape of the head and sole makes it easy to play off the fairway or from the rough. This clubhead was in the design and testing phase for more than 3 years, and the folks at Pinhawk know that you or your customer will be thrilled at how easy it is to hit this fairway wood a long, long way. In fact, the 2 Pinhawk product designers have this club firmly in their own bags, and you would have to pry it out of their cold, dead hands!

Frequently Asked Questions:

1) Does this club have anything to do with the Pinhawk single-length clubs?

No. It's true that Pinhawk Golf is famous for their popular single-length clubs, but the Pinhawk LF-3 is almost the single-length antithesis. The only thing the Pinhawk LF-3 has in common with our single-length clubs is making golf more fun.

2) Is this club really that easy to hit?

A general rule in golf is that the shorter the club, the easier it is to hit. So, no, we're not saying that you will necessarily hit this club more accurately than a short fairway wood, but, again, if your goal is maximum distance, you won't find an easier to hit, longer fairway wood than the Pinhawk LF-3.

3) Are there plans to make a long 5 or 7 wood?

No. That wouldn't make sense in our estimation. A long 5 wood for instance, might overlap distance-wise with a standard 3 wood. The Pinhawk LF-3 stands by itself. Have fun with it.

4) Why is the head weight 205 grams?

For swingweight purposes. Built at 44", with a standard-weight graphite shaft and a standard weight grip, the Pinhawk LF-3 swingweights at around D-0. We suggest a lighter-weight graphite shaft if built longer than 44". If you build a standard-weight 3 wood at 44" or longer, the swingweight would be too heavy. It would feel head heavy and it's doubtful you'd be happy with it.

5) Why does the head have a 55 degree lie angle?

Because it's designed to be built at a longer length than a standard 3 wood. The longer length requires a flatter lie angle. That's another reason why building a standard 3 wood would not work well. The Pinhawk LF-3 is specially designed for it's purpose: distance.
